Courses
You can register by sending an email to info@nordstrand.at, contacting us via phone/WhatsApp/Signal at +436769337552, using the registration form on our website, or by visiting our school directly at Nordstrand.
A little rain is not a problem, as you’ll get wet anyway while surfing, and we provide you with a wetsuit for cooler temperatures. However, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we have the FlexiBreeze Surfing System, which allows you to reschedule courses in unfavorable wind or weather conditions.
To start windsurfing, you only need a gentle breeze, and thanks to the favorable wind conditions at Lake Neusiedl, we almost always have that. However, if the wind conditions are not suitable, we have the FlexiBreeze Surfing System. It allows you to reschedule courses in unfavorable wind or weather conditions.
The beach entrance fee is not included in the course price and must be paid separately when entering the beach area. If you have booked accommodation in Podersdorf or the surrounding area, your landlord usually provides you with the Burgenland Card, which grants you free access to the beach resorts. Please inquire with your accommodation to confirm if the Burgenland Card is includes.
If you only enter the beach resort to bring your child to the surf school or pick them up, you can deposit an ID at the beach cashier to accompany your child. However, if you plan to stay in the beach resort for a longer period, for example, to watch the course, you will need to purchase an entrance ticket.
The course is paid on-site at our school at the beginning of the course. You can pay in cash or by card.
The minimum number of participants for the course to take place is 4. If there are less participants the course will be shortened or held as a private class.
The course days do not necessarily have to be consecutive. You can take one or more days off in between without any problem. However, we recommend that the course days be close together so that things you already learned do not need to be repeatedly refreshed before we can build upon it. For example, the 5-day basic course can be well divided over 2-3 weekends.
If you have booked a trial day or another course, enjoyed it, and wish to continue, you can upgrade at the end of the course day. You only pay the surcharge for the additional day(s).
RENTAL
No advance registration for the rental is necessary. Just come by our station. During check-in, we ask you to leave an ID. You don’t need to commit to how long you will be surfing. The billing will be done during check-out based on the time you spent on the water. We offer various rental models, from hourly or daily rental to seasonal passes.
If you are not comfortable with the equipment or if the wind conditions change (weaken or intensify), you can also exchange your equipment during the rental period.
Pre-booking of equipment is not possible. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis. However, our station is well-equipped, and usually, there is sufficient windsurfing material available. We always strive to ensure that you get the equipment you desire.

What happens if damage occurs to the equipment? Fortunately, damage cases do not occur too often. However, the renter is responsible for any damage to the equipment. The person handing over the equipment will inspect it together with you upon receipt and upon return.
In addition to renting windsurfing equipment and sailboats, we also offer the rental of Stand Up Paddle Boards, kayaks, and paddle boats.
If you want to rent a SUP from us but have never paddled before, we will be happy to provide you with a brief introduction to SUPing. Stand Up Paddling is easy, and you don’t need a course to learn it. However, if you feel unsure and prefer to go on the water with one of our instructors, you can book a private lesson with us.
Wenn du grundlegende Kenntnisse im Jollensegeln und einen Segelgrundschein hast kannst du dir bei uns Xylon Jollen ausleihen. Beim Check In bitten wir dich einen Ausweis zu hinterlegen. Abgerechnet wird beim Check Out je nach der Zeit die du gesegelt bist. Die erste Stunde wird voll verrechnet, danach erfolgt die Verrechnung halbstündig. Bitte beachte folgendes: Bei Unwetterwarnung oder Windstärken ab 4 Bft. verleihen wir unsere Jollen nicht. Die Jollen haben keinen zusätzlichen Motorantrieb. Es ist nicht ratsam sich sehr weit von unserer Verleih-Station zu entfernen, da sich die Windverhältnisse rasch ändern können und das Zurückkehren dadurch erschwert sein kann. Für längere Ausflüge an andere Ufer sind unsere Jollen daher nicht geeignet.
If you have basic knowledge of dinghy sailing and hold a basic sailing certificate, you can rent Xylon dinghies from us. During check-in, we ask you to leave an ID. The billing will be done during check-out based on the time you spent sailing. The first hour is billed in full, and then billing is done in half-hour increments.
Please note the following: In case of storm warnings or wind speeds of 4 Bft. and above, we do not rent out our dinghies. The dinghies do not have an additional motor drive. It is not advisable to venture too far from our rental station, as wind conditions can change rapidly, making it difficult to return. Therefore, our dinghies are not suitable for longer trips to other shores
To rent a dinghy from us, you need basic knowledge of dinghy sailing and a basic sailing certificate. If your last sailing experience was a long time ago or if you feel unsure, we recommend booking a refresher lesson with our certified sailing instructors.
In addition to the rental of windsurfing equipment and sailboats, we also offer the rental of Stand Up Paddle Boards, kayaks, and pedal boats. However, we do not have electric motorboats available for rent.
General Questions
At current water levels, windsurfing, wingsurfing and sailing on dinghies or cabin boats with shallow drafts can be done without limitations.
We are open daily from early April to early October. Our opening hours may vary depending on the weather. We are on-site at the beach from 09:30 AM, or, in case of favorable wind conditions, as early as 09:00 AM.
